Final Decision -Klak
By: Kitty
“okay” Klik sighed, then turned back to the others “Klak, you and Dooby forage for firewood and stuff”
Klak wanted to say; “seriously? No! Anybody else! Anybody but Dooby! Even Booga! I would rather be beat up and made fun of then be alone with Dooby!”
but he didn’t, he simply nodded, though he wish he had said something, for now he was walking next to his older brother, his head down, wondering if he could really tell him to his face that he was possibly going to forget all about him, and run off with some girl.
After a while, Klak lifted his head and glanced at Dooby.
Dooby noticed him and gave him a warm, friendly smile.
Klak managed a weak smile back, but felt his heart rip in two.
When he couldn’t fight back the tears anymore, he fell apart, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Dooby saw this and his eyes filled with concern “you okay, brother? Whats wrong?”
he rushed to Klak's side and offered to take him back to camp.
Klak shook his head, wrapped his arms around Dooby's neck, and sobbed silently into his shoulder.
Dooby seemed surprised about this at first, but soon caught on, holding him and comforting him.
Klak had to admit, even when in the middle of deciding whether to leave him or the girl he liked, he still found comfort in his older brother.
Dooby was kindness itself, he knew how to comfort Klak even when he didn't know what he was upset about, even if the Tribe members never acknowledged this, Klak would always be grateful of it.
When Klak was feeling a little better, Dooby looked him in the eye, like he would when Klak was younger.
“can you tell me what the problem is now?”
Klak couldn’t take it anymore, he spilled out everything, he told Dooby every detail, how he loved Moon, how he wanted to be with her, and how he was afraid of losing Dooby in the process. Dooby looked at him with a steady gaze as he talked, nodding every once in a while.
“.... and I wish it could be another way, that I could have you both, but Ooga tried it and look how that worked out for him!”
Klak expected Dooby to be angry, to leave and start treating him like the rest of the tribe did, but he just looked at him calmly and said something that changed everything:
“but you aren’t Ooga”
Klak's eyes widened, and an idea formed in his mind.
Dooby looked at him with clear amusement “so do you want to go back to camp? We could bake those chocolate fudge brownies I know you love so much”
Oh how Klak wanted that, he loved those brownies so much, those delicious brownies Dooby would bake whenever Klak was sad or hurt, sometimes Klak would fake it, just to get one taste.
Dooby could tell when Klak was faking, he had a weird talent of reading peoples faces , personalities, emotions, and thoughts, he would look at him funny, but he could tell Klak intended to have brownies, and he wasn’t going to deny him of them. He would let Klak eat as many as he pleased, and he wouldn’t even get mad when he ate them all, he would just bake more, smiling as he did.
But right now Klak had something to do. Something important.
He thanked Dooby and ran off, noticing Dooby shaking his head, smiling, out of the corner of his eyes.
“Moon! Moon!” Klak called,
Moon stopped and turned around, about to jump into Barracuda alley.
“Moon, I-” Klak started, but his clumsiness got the best of him, and he tripped over a root, barreling at a wide-eyed Moon, and sending them both flying into the Barracuda-infested waters.
“Moon” Klak choked through mouthfuls of water “i have something to tell you”
“what is it?' Moon asked “i'm kind of in the middle of something here!”
“Moon I love you”
everything went silent, time seemed to stop, and everything blurred into the background, blending together in a haze of colors, it was just Klak and Moon now, Klak didnt even notice the sharp bites of the Barracudas as they viciously attacked them.
Moon's cheeks turned red “Klak i- I dont know what to say...” Moon stuttered, seeming unsure about her self for the first time.
Klak hugged her, he held her there for a while, and she murmured, “i love you too, Klak”
“later on, do you wanna, I dont know, jump of the waterfall together?” he asked, blushing.
“sure” she agreed
Time resumed, they were still in the river, still being eaten alive by the malicious Barracudas, except they were now inches away from the waterfall.
Klak just now remembered something he had forgot during the moment.
“Moon! I almost forgot! Can I bring someone?”
Moon gave him a questioning look “who?” she asked suspiciously.
“a friend” Klak replied, grinning.
“alright” Moon said reluctantly.
Just then they went over, slamming into the jagged rocks below.
As Klak felt the familiar, cold feeling of death, the no longer wondrous feeling of being as light as air, and the still disappointing feeling of slamming back to the cold earth with a POP!, He couldn't help but smile.
He ran to Dooby when he regenerated, grinning like crazy.
“Dooby! Dooby I did it! I asked her out!” Klak yelled, flinging himself into his brothers arms and smiling up at him.
Dooby returned the smile, and he answered enthusiastically.
“that's great, Brother! I'm so happy for you!”
“there's another thing, you're coming too” Klak said
whatever Dooby was expecting, it wasn’t this, his eyes widened from their usual half-closed state, and he looked completely dumfounded. Klak liked that, he had finally surprised his older brother.
“you- you didn't have to do that” he said
“but I did” Klak pointed out
Dooby smiled and shook his head, closing his eyes.
“thanks for thinking of me, Klak” he said, “but I want you to know, even if you didn't, I would still be happy for you, be proud of you, whatever you do, I will always support you, little Brother”
Klak grinned, and hugged Dooby again, then he got up,
“come on Dooby, we have a waterfall to jump off of”
Dooby was right, Klak wasn't Ooga, but maybe that wasn't such a bad thing, Ooga couldn't handle a best friend and a girlfriend, but maybe Klak could, maybe he would be different.
And as he and Dooby arrived, giving Moon a confused are-you-sure? Kind of look, got positioned, and leaped of the spot Klak had tripped over long before, he made a silent swear to himself that he would have his best friend and his new girlfriend at his side for the rest of their immortal lives.
And, he added, grinning that after this Stunt, we'll go have some of those chocolate fudge brownies!

i love this one alot
If Kinsee and Booga come together I wonder if all their children will be boys. That would be funny.
Not one, not two, but THREE favorite pygmies. And Klik as an opening line.
You, sir, might have won the internet, but Moon is out of character. XD It's still awesome, of course. You can have it at half price, or take everything in my pocket RIGHT NOW. Once in a lifetime deal.
I swear I flipped out when I saw the word 'brownies'. XD I nearly dropped the computer. I'm glad you're not me, Kit, because one of those was enough.
